Walkable glass skylights for more light in the basement

A total of seven GLASSFLOOR® skylights have been installed in the two playgrounds at the Töss school complex. They bring natural daylight into the areas below while allowing the playgrounds to be used without restriction.

Despite their large dimensions, the walkable glass panels meet high structural requirements. Among other things, they are designed to withstand a point load of 2 tons per 20 × 20 cm and a surface load of 1 ton per square meter. This means that, depending on the design, the skylights are even suitable for vehicle traffic.

A slip-resistant surface also ensures safety in everyday use. This allows children to use the playgrounds safely even in changing weather conditions, while the rooms below benefit from natural daylight.
